Kyle Thissell
Co-Founder and Chief Executive OfficerKyle is an accomplished hunter with over 28-years of experience, specializing in big game hunting. Kyle grew up in Oregon and developed a passion for the outdoors at an early age. His love for nature led him to pursue a career as a guide, where he could share his expertise with others while promoting responsible outdoor practices.
Kyle specializes in hunting big game animals and is a strong advocate for conservation and sustainable practices. Before starting Northern Nevada Outfitters, Kyle was a sub-guide for nine years working with multiple outfitters. During his time as a sub-guide, Kyle harvested multiple world class animals. He has hunted all the west coast states, in New Zealand and British Columbia. Kyle is passionate about mentoring young outdoor enthusiasts and believes that sharing knowledge and experiences is key to developing a new generation of responsible and skilled outdoor adventurers.
After surviving his own harrowing battle with cancer, Kyle felt a profound calling to make a difference in the lives of others facing similar struggles. His journey was marked by the isolation, financial strain, and emotional upheaval that often accompany a cancer diagnosis. Driven by his firsthand understanding of the recovery journey, and his reliance on the outdoors to get him through some of his toughest times, Kyle is determined to turn his experience into a source of hope for others.
Jayme Martinez
Co-Founder and Chief Financial OfficerJayme Martinez is a dedicated attorney and passionate advocate for youth development and outdoor education and conservation. With over 18 years of experience in law, specializing in criminal defense, civil/business litigation and family law/mediation, Jayme has cultivated a strong commitment to serving her community and empowering the next generation.
Jayme's passion for the outdoors, and her unwavering belief that nature is medicine inspired her to combine her legal expertise with a desire to create positive change in the lives of others. In 2024, Jayme co-founded Northern Nevada Outfitters with Kyle, both determined to make a difference. As the Co-founder of Northern Nevada Outfitters, Jayme is focused on developing programs that promote mentorship, education, and responsible hunting/fishing practices. By forging partnerships with local businesses, conservation groups, youth and veteran’s organizations, and community support groups for those impacted by cancer, she seeks to create a supportive community that encourages individuals to explore the outdoors, confidently and responsibly.
In addition to her work at Northern Nevada Outfitters, Jayme actively participates in various community service initiatives and Nevada outdoor advocacy groups. She is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Nevada Bighorns Unlimited, Wild Sheep Foundation, Friends of Nevada Wilderness, Nevada Environmental Justice Coalition, and the Nevada Conservation League. She is also a member of the Nevada State Bar, American Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
